If you've been given this link then you've been invited to take part in an experimental conservation class designed for preschoolers (aged approximately 3-6) and their families.
I'm Ms Kate, the owner of Suzy's Nature Studies. I've been teaching nature study to students (pre-K through 8th grade) in and around the Lansing area for 6 years.
I am currently enrolled in a course to become a state certified conservationist.
As part of my certification, I am developing a preschool level hands-on Michigan conservation class.
But. I need to test my program out to make sure it works!
Play tester sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons to accommodate the typical working parent's schedule.
You are welcome to attend as many or as few of the play tester sessions as you like!
Play tester sessions will be held at the North Pavilion of Valhalla Park (2287 Pine Tree Rd, Holt 48842).
The North Pavilion is near the trail head, visible from the parking lot, and on the opposite side of the parking lot as the lake and playground equipment.
Each session is estimated to be 30-45 minutes.
Play taster sessions are scheduled as follows:
Saturday, October 19th, 1:00pm - biodiversity and invasive species
Wednesday, October 23rd, 5:00pm - endangered species and habitat loss
Saturday, October 26th, 1:00pm - geographical features and water pollution
Wednesday, October 30th, 5:00pm - pollution and leave no trace
Saturday, November 2nd, 1:00pm - native pollinators and everyday things families can do to help
There is no need to enroll, simply show up ready to play and learn!
Because I will be utilizing these play tester sessions for my class requirement, I need your consent
to take pictures of your children engaging in the program I've designed.
These pictures will be used to show my course instructors the work that I've done AND
to advertise free conservation classes to the community next spring.
No names nor identifying information will be included with the pictures.
Please fill out the form below to let me know whether you consent (or do not consent) to having your child's pictures used for these purposes.
